[//]:content-type-MARKDOWN-DONOT-DELETE  Gate Charity recently completed a successful initiative in Vietnam, which took place from March 21-22, 2024, to support orphaned and disabled children. The initiative, titled 'The Caring Bookshelf', provided children from the Mai Am Co Mai shelter with their very own bookshelf filled with educational and entertaining reading materials.  The Mai Am Co Mai shelter, located in Thuận An, Bình Dương, Vietnam, is a home for over 40 orphaned and disabled children. The shelter and its volunteers rely heavily on community support to ensure the children receive the care and nurturing they need to heal from losses and grow to their full potential.  To better support the shelter and the children, Gate Charity built a bookshelf and stocked it with educational and entertaining books. The books included in the collection were carefully selected to cater to the children's different interests and age groups, ensuring something for everyone. Comics and fairy tales spark the imagination of younger children, whereas science and life skills books aim to teach older children more practical knowledge to help them in their daily lives. By providing access to these books, the children have a greater opportunity to learn new things, expand their knowledge, and develop new skills, which can help them thrive and persevere past their hardships.   The fully stocked bookshelf has been a great addition to the shelter's resources, providing the children with access to a wide range of books and learning materials. The volunteers at the shelter are thrilled to see the children's enthusiasm for reading and learning grow as they explore stories and essential subjects. Gate Charity also provided support for other essential needs underlined by the volunteers.   Along with The Caring Bookshelf project, Gate Charity has successfully launched several other philanthropic endeavours in Vietnam to aid children's shelters in various regions. The organization remains committed to enhancing the quality of life and opportunities for growth for children undergoing challenging and unfortunate circumstances.
