The event will take place at the Latin America Memorial in São Paulo, Brazil. The World Day for the End of Fishing (WoDEF) is observed every year on March 30th and serves as a global initiative organized by activists and non-profit organizations to raise awareness about the impact of fishing on marine life and ecosystems. More specifically, the initiative calls for the abolition of fishing and aquaculture farms. Fishes, crustaceans and cephalopods are the focus of WoDEF's concerns, since they represent the biggest proportion of animals killed by humans, equaling thousands of billions of victims each year. In addition to participating in and supporting the event, Gate Charity will be providing free t-shirts to all of the organizers representing the non-profit organizations participating in the event. The World Day for the End of Fishing is expected to draw participation from 100 concerned citizens and activists committed to the welfare of animals and to increasing sustainability practices around the globe.
