글로벌 패스트푸드 프랜차이즈 버거킹(Burger King) 독일 지사가 비트코인(Bitcoin, BTC) 결제를 지원한다.

2일(현지시간) 암호화폐 전문 미디어 코인게이프(Coingape)에 따르면 독일 버거킹 이용자들은 버거킹 모바일 앱으로 결제 시 비자(Visa), 페이팔(PayPal) 등 기존 결제 수단과 함께 비트코인으로 결제가 가능하다.
암호화폐 애널리스트인 크립토사라(Crypto Sara)는 1일(현지시간) 트위터를 통해 “버거킹은 매일 1,100만 명 이상이 방문해 전 세계에서 두 번째로 큰 햄버거 프랜차이즈”라며 “독일의 버거킹은 앱을 통해 비트코인 결제를 수용했다”고 반가워했다.

앞서 버거킹은 러시아 내 비트코인 결제 시스템을 구축한 바 있다.
한편 3일(한국시간) 오후 1시 40분 현재 해외 암호화폐 시황중계사이트인 코인마켓캡에서 글로벌 비트코인(Bitcoin, BTC) 시세는 24시간 전 대비 6.15% 상승한 약 10,381달러에 거래되고 있다. 24시간 거래량은 약 181억 달러이며, 시가총액은 약 1,860억 달러이다. 비트코인 시가총액 점유율은 70.1%에 달한다.
